Overview
Your email filtering system periodically sends a quarantine summary email — a digest listing messages caught by the spam filter and held in your quarantine area. These are sent automatically and are completely legitimate.
These emails always come from reports@serverdata.net. If you receive one and aren't sure whether it's real, that sender address is the reliable indicator.
Quick answer: A quarantine summary from reports@serverdata.net is not spam and not a phishing attempt. It's a routine notification from your email filter. No action is required unless you want to review the messages it lists.
What the Summary Email Contains
Each summary shows recent activity in your personal quarantine area, including:
- Emails added to your quarantine since the last summary
- Emails you've released to your inbox
- Emails you've deleted from quarantine
- Any changes you've made to your safe or blocked sender lists
The summary also includes buttons to Manage quarantined emails and Manage safe/blocked lists, which link directly into your personal quarantine area.
What Should I Do?
If everything in the summary looks fine: No action needed. You can delete the email.
If you see a message that looks legitimate: Click Manage quarantined emails and release it to your inbox. Consider adding the sender to your Safe Senders list to prevent future filtering.
If you're not sure whether the summary email itself is legitimate: Check the sender address — it should be reports@serverdata.net. If the sender address looks different or unusual, forward it to support before clicking anything.
If you didn't expect to receive these summaries: Contact support and we can disable them for your account.
How Quarantine Summaries Are Controlled
Quarantine summary emails are managed at the account level. They can be enabled or disabled for individual mailboxes or for the entire account. By default we disable them for most accounts — but a known setup quirk can occasionally cause them to re-enable when a new mailbox is provisioned.
If you'd like summaries turned off (or back on), open a support ticket and we'll update the setting for you.
Managing Your Quarantine Directly
You can review and manage your quarantine at any time without waiting for a summary email:
- Go to your webmail portal (typically webmail.yourdomain.com)
- Sign in using the Webmail tab
- Your quarantine area is accessible from within the portal
Adding a Legitimate Sender to Your Safe Senders List
If a sender keeps landing in quarantine and you've confirmed they're legitimate, you can add them to your Safe Senders list directly from any quarantine summary email using the Manage safe/blocked lists button, or through your quarantine area in the webmail portal.
