If you’re having trouble with your email reaching people’s inboxes, or just want to make sure everything is set up correctly, you can use mail-tester.com to run a quick test. Here’s how:
Step 1: Open Mail-Tester.com
Go to https://www.mail-tester.com.
You’ll see a random email address that looks something like test-abc123@mail-tester.com.
Copy the email address (click the 'copy' icon to the right of the email address).
Step 2: Send a Test Email
Open your regular email program (like Outlook, Gmail, Apple Mail, etc.).
Create a new email.
Paste the address you copied into the TO field.
Subject and message body can be anything you like — for example, just write “Test” in both.
Send the email.
Step 3: Get Your Results
After sending the email, go back to the mail-tester.com page.
Click the button that says “Then check your score.”
Wait a few seconds while the test runs.
You’ll see a score (out of 10) along with details about your email’s setup.
What the Score Means
9–10: Excellent — your email setup is strong.
7–8: Good — minor improvements may be needed.
6 or below: Problems — your emails may end up in spam or not be delivered.
Important
Mail-Tester checks technical things like whether your email is protected and trusted (SPF, DKIM, DMARC).
You don’t need to understand all the details — if the score is low, send the test report to your IT or website support team so they can help.
Tip: Always use your real email account when sending the test, not a fake or test-only system.
If you run into any issues, please contact our support team with your test results.
