We are excited to announce the release of PHP versions 7.1 and 7.2 onto the Cloud Sites platform! You can now create websites using these versions through your control panel via the technology framework drop down menu:
PHP 5.6 and 7.0 Retirement
We understand that staying abreast of the latest technologies is key to your business success. Active support of PHP 5.6 and 7.0 versions ended recently and security updates will end in December 2018 (see php.net for more information).
The Cloud Sites product will not support/process PHP 5.6 and 7.0 starting mid February 2019.
Key Dates
- April 17th 2018 -- PHP 7.2 will be set as the default website technology version
- May 15th 2018 -- PHP 5.6 and 7.0 versions will be removed as a control panel option*
*These changes will not impact existing websites using PHP 5.6/7.0.
Preparing For The Transition
Starting March 26th, 2018, the below IPs can be used to test your websites code with PHP 7.2.
LAN3-1: 184.106.55.133
PHX1-1: 98.129.229.119
PHX1-2: 98.129.229.227
During testing, DO NOT modify your website's DNS records. We recommend Editing Your DNS Host File to view your website code on our PHP 7.2 test environments .
To determine which IP to use, please reference the respective test-link for each of your websites (under website details in your control panel).
Example: http://www.website-example.com.php7-30.phx1-1.websitetestlink.com would use the PHX1-1 IP to test
Going forward, we will continue providing our customers with more information related to common problems encountered with deprecated code and with new test-links tailored to your specific websites.
Once you are satisfied with your testing, you can self-migrate your website to the new technology at any time of your choosing, via the “Change Technology” option for your website in the Cloud Sites Control Panel.
We are excited about these new frameworks and are committed to helping you as we sunset these older and insecure versions. If you have any questions, please reach out to our support team.
